This one-owner, used Vivitar 283 flash unit was purchased new, probably circa late '80s or early '90s, and has been used very infrequently. It has been packed in storage for over a decade and is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition. The unit is extremely clean, with a light scuff on the front auto thyristor knob and very minimal signs of use elsewhere.
Just prior to this ebay listing, the unit was tested with 4 brand new AA alkaline batteries, and it powered up just fine and the manual flash button fired off numerous flashes. The shoe mount locks firmly and looks to be in great shape. The unit appears to be fully functional, however it has not been tested on a camera for several years, so seller makes no claims about its photographic compatibility.
Also included is one soft black cloth drawstring storage bag.
